Voluntary Watering Restrictions

It’s officially spring and our grasses, trees and flowers are beginning to emerge from their winter slumber. Even this early in the season, we’re committed to smart watering practices and encourage customers to follow these basic steps to prevent over- watering of the new, spring growth

•          Water no more than three days a week.

•          Water before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. when temperatures are cooler.

•          Avoid watering on windy days.

•          Avoid applying water or allowing water to pool on impervious surfaces, such as patios, driveways, streets, or sidewalks.

•          Water deeply and less frequently so roots grow deep and strong.

•          Make amendments to the soil to allow better moisture retention and provide plants with the fertilizer they need.

•          Use a positive shut-off nozzle when irrigating landscapes or washing vehicles.

•          Re-use the water from washing vegetables or fruits for houseplants or your garden.
